I Need a Silent Night this Advent

I was just listening to an Amy Grant song - I Need a Silent Night - and thinking about how I hustle and bustle so much at this time and enjoy finding peace to meditate on our Lord and trying to teach my family to find peace during this season as well.

Being in the accounting field also makes it challenging - year end things that need to be attended to as well as holiday plans that I want to be perfect for everyone.

Take a few minutes to enjoy the song and find some time for peace! God Bless!

Our Lady's December 2nd, 2010 Message to Mirjana

"Dear children; Today I am praying here with you that you may gather the strength to open your hearts and thus to become aware of the mighty love of the suffering God. Through this His love, goodness and meekness, I am also with you. I invite you for this special time of preparation to be a time of prayer, penance and conversion. My children, you need God. You cannot go forward without my Son. When you comprehend and accept this, what was promised to you will be realized. Through the Holy Spirit the Kingdom of Heaven will be born in your hearts. I am leading you to this. Thank you."

The Season of Advent

The Church has started a new year with this season of Advent which started on Sunday, Nov. 28 this year.

Suddenly we leap into the time of waiting, preparation, hope, joy and prayer.

We find a blessed virgin preparing for the arrival of her Child. We find her waiting for the day to arrive to give birth.

We hope for peace and joy as we pray.

The children are anxiously waiting for St. Nic and the joy of Christmas.

We look forward to this time to put our home in order and make all of our plans to celebrate Christ's birth as a family.

It is a very busy time of year, but it is important to keep Christ in all we do and save some time for meditation and prayer. That can even happen as we are baking cookies or bars - or even driving to the mall.

Remember the less fortunate this season too, keep them in your prayers.

God Bless us all this Advent season!
