Message, 25. December 2011

“Dear children! Also today, in my arms I am carrying my Son Jesus to you, for Him to give you His peace. Pray, little children, and witness so that in every heart, not human but God's peace may prevail, which no one can destroy. It is that peace in the heart which God gives to those whom He loves. By your baptism you are all, in a special way called and loved, therefore witness and pray that you may be my extended hands to this world which yearns for God and peace. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Our Lady's Medjugorje Message Given to Mirjana December 02, 2011

"Dear children, As a mother I am with you so that with my love, prayer and example I may help you to become a seed of the future, a seed that will grow into a firm tree and spread it's branches throughout the world. For you to become a seed of the future, a seed of love, implore the Father to forgive you your omissions up to now. My children, only a pure heart, unburdened by sin, can open itself and only honest eyes can see the way by which I desire to lead you. When you become aware of this, you will become aware of the love of God - it will be given (as a gift) to you. Then you will give it (as a gift) to others as a seed of love. Thank you."

Medjugorje Message November 25, 2011

“Dear children! Today I desire to give you hope and joy. Everything that is around you, little children, leads you towards worldly things but I desire to lead you towards a time of grace, so that through this time you may be all the closer to my Son, that He can lead you towards His love and eternal life, for which every heart yearns. You, little children, pray and may this time for you be one of grace for your soul. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

"Dear children, the Father has not left you to yourselves. Immeasurable is His love, the love that is bringing me to you, to help you to come to know Him, so that, through my Son, all of you can call Him ‘Father’ with the fullness of heart; that you can be one people in God’s family. However, my children, do not forget that you are not in this world only for yourselves, and that I am not calling you here only for your sake. Those who follow my Son think of the brother in Christ as of their very selves and they do not know selfishness. That is why I desire that you be the light of my Son, that to all those who have not come to know the Father - to all those who wander in the darkness of sin, despair, pain and loneliness – you may illuminate the way and that, with your life, you may show them the love of God. I am with you. If you open your hearts, I will lead you. Again I am calling you: pray for your shepherds. Thank you. "

I love you and I am praying for your conversion without ceasing before my Son Jesus. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Scapular

Saint Simon Stock receiving instructions on the brown scapular from Mary.

After you get your scapular, you must have it blessed by a priest. After it's been blessed, you then become "invested" when the priest recites certain prayers. Many scapulars do not require investment at all, but simply need to be blessed -- as do all scapular.

You only need to have your first scapular blessed; if it wears out and you need to replace it, the blessing "transfers" to replacements. (The proper way to get rid of worn out scapulars -- or any sacramental -- is to either burn it or bury it.)

It is good to remember that Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
Wool comes from sheep and lambs are sheep.
Wool is uncomfortable to wear. Things that Jesus did for us were uncomfortable.

Mary is the 'spiritual' mother of all mankind watching over us and praying for us.

Our Lady's October 02, 2011 Message to Mirjana

"Dear children; Also today my motherly heart calls you to prayer, to your personal relationship with God the Father, to the joy of prayer in Him. God the Father is not far away from you and He is not unknown to you. He revealed Himself to you through my Son and gave you Life that is my Son. Therefore, my children, do not give into temptations that want to separate you from God the Father. Pray! Do not attempt to have families and societies without Him. Pray! Pray that your hearts may be flooded with the goodness which comes only from my Son, Who is sincere goodness. Only hearts filled with goodness can comprehend and accept God the Father. I will continue to lead you. In a special way I implore you not to judge your shepherds. My children, are you forgetting that God the Father called them? Pray! Thank you."

Mirjana said: I have never said anything before, but are you aware, brothers and sisters, that the Mother of God was with us? Each of us should ask himself: "Are you worthy of this?" I am saying this because it is difficult for me to see Her (Our Lady) in pain, because each of us is seeking a miracle, but does not want to work a miracle in himself.

Our Lady's September 25, 2011 Medjugorje Message

“Dear children! I call you, for this time to be for all of you, a time of witnessing. You, who live in the love of God and have experienced His gifts, witness them with your words and life that they may be for the joy and encouragement to others in faith. I am with you and incessantly intercede before God for all of you that your faith may always be alive and joyful, and in the love of God. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

What is Prayer?

What is Prayer? Simply - Talking to God from your heart. Praising, thanking and asking.

The raising of one's mind and heart to God in thanksgiving and in praise of his glory. It can also include the requesting of good things from God. It is an act by which one enters into awareness of a loving communion with God. "Prayer is the response of faith to the free promise of salvation and also a response of love to the thirst of the only Son of God" (CCC, no. 2561).

My "Epiphany Moment" - The Miracle of Lanciano

We are defined not by who we are, but what we do.

Think back to a time when you overcame a great obstacle – you set a goal for yourself, you were faced with challenge and adversity, and through your own determination and perseverance, you overcame, conquered, and stood tall.

How did that challenge shape you into who you are today? What did you learn? What was that moment like when everything “came together”?

What about a time when you felt completely helpless? When a loved one passed away, when you-yourself were faced with an unfortunate and unforeseeable circumstance. How did it impact you? What did you do to embrace that change?

It’s these life-changing and often-times trying “moments” that define who we are and shape what we become. The Epiphany Moment is a time in your life when everything makes sense – when you have an “ultimate realization” when for, even for a brief moment, you “get it”.
Enter you…all of you. Each and every one of us have had one, or many of these moments throughout our life.

Have you had an “Epiphany Moment”?
What was it?

I wasn't a cradle Catholic. My Epiphany Moment was in the Eucharist. It was when I realized that Jesus is truly present as the Body and Blood of Christ. I always heard the words, “The Body of Christ”, “The Blood of Christ” – but I thought that it was a symbol of our faith.

I read about the Miracle at Lanciano and that is when I had my epiphany. I realized that the Eucharist is truly Jesus. Now I yearn for it.

http://www.therealpresence.org/eucharst/mir/lanciano.html (The information below comes from this website.)

Ancient Anxanum, the city of the Frentanese, has contained for over twelve centuries the first and greatest Eucharistic Miracle of the Catholic Church. This wondrous Event took place in the 8th century A.D. in the little Church of St. Legontian, as a divine response to a Basilian monk's doubt about Jesus' Real Presence in the Eucharist.

During Holy Mass, after the two-fold consecration, the host was changed into live Flesh and the wine was changed into live Blood, which coagulated into five globules, irregular and differing in shape and size.

The Host-Flesh, as can be very distinctly observed today, has the same dimensions as the large host used today in the Latin church; it is light brown and appears rose-colored when lighted from the back.

The Blood is coagulated and has an earthy color resembling the yellow of ochre.

Various ecclesiastical investigation ("Recognitions") were conducted since 1574.

In 1970-'71 and taken up again partly in 1981 there took place a scientific investigation by the most illustrious scientist Prof. Odoardo Linoli, eminent Professor in Anatomy and Pathological Histology and in Chemistry and Clinical Microscopy. He was assisted by Prof. Ruggero Bertelli of the University of Siena.

  • The analyses were conducted with absolute and unquestionable scientific precision and they were documented with a series of microscopic photographs. These analyses sustained the following conclusions:
The Flesh is real Flesh. The Blood is real Blood.

  • The Flesh and the Blood belong to the human species.

  • The Flesh consists of the muscular tissue of the heart.

  • In the Flesh we see present in section: the myocardium, the endocardium, the vagus nerve and also the left ventricle of the heart for the large thickness of the myocardium.

  • The Flesh is a "HEART" complete in its essential structure.

  • The Flesh and the Blood have the same blood-type: AB (Blood-type identical to that which Prof. Baima Bollone uncovered in the Holy Shroud of Turin).

  • In the Blood there were found proteins in the same normal proportions (percentage-wise) as are found in the sero-proteic make-up of the fresh normal blood.

  • In the Blood there were also found these minerals: chlorides, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, sodium and calcium.

  • The preservation of the Flesh and of the Blood, which were left in their natural state for twelve centuries and exposed to the action of atmospheric and biological agents, remains an extraordinary phenomenon.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine in La Crosse, Wisconsin

"Am I not here, I, who am your Mother?" Those are the words spoken to St. Juan Diego from the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

I recently chaperoned a trip for our youth to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, Wisconsin. I had been there on one other occasion so I was familiar with the location.

I had 5 girls that I was taking through the grounds and the Shrine. We started the day off with the coach bus ride and said the Holy Rosary on the trip as well as watched an informational video to give more information for the pilgrimage about St. Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe.

When we arrived at the location, the kids were eager to get off the bus and see the area. It is nestled in a hill area of the beautiful La Crosse area. When you get there, the visitor center is visible and the Votive Chapel just up the hill slightly.

The children didn't understand at first that the journey was to be a pilgrimage where they would be walking and meditating. They soon understood after many questions of WHY it would be on a hill and such a journey to the shrine. ( more info on the Votive Chapel )

After visiting the Votive Chapel and talking to them about the meaning of the numerous stained glass images of Our Lady, we went on to find the first outdoor grotto - Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, Patroness of Native American Catholics.

Then we stopped and headed back down to the Visitor's Center to eat at the Culina Mariana Restaurant.

After eating we started off on the journey back up the hill on the Meditation Trail, past the Votive Chapel and past the first grotto, to the second outdoor grotto - Saint Joseph the Workman, Patron of the Diocese of La Crosse.

Soon we were back on the Meditation Trail and on our way to the Shrine. It was about a half mile up an incline to get to the Shrine. A beautiful bronze image of the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe on the tilma of Saint Juan Diego in the presence of Bishop Juan de Zumárraga is in the plaza of the Shrine Church.

I left the children peek inside the Shrine Church, but since we would be back for Mass soon, I opted to take them further up the trail to the Memorial to the Unborn. The Memorial contains instructional plaques which explain the teaching of the Catholic Church on such topics as contraception, abortion, embryonic stem cell research, and the dignity of life for all. The Memorial also contains several flower beds known as Mary's Garden - containing flowers named after the Blessed Mother. There is a beautiful bronze statue of Our Lady holding infants in her arms.

We followed the path to the top where all 20 Mysteries of the Rosary are depicted in blue and white tiles. It is a beautiful place to meditate on the Mysteries of the Rosary in detail.

We proceeded back a short distance to the start of the Stations of the Cross. The Stations are along a walking path for prayer and meditation.

Now it was getting close to the start of Mass. We entered the Church and headed to the confessionals since the girls showed an interest in Reconciliation. I wanted to encourage that and made sure they were all able to go to Confession before Mass started.

After Mass we had a guided tour of the Shrine Church and were told about the artistry and Relics that are present there.

It was a wonderful trip and the kids enjoyed it very much. We got to the Shrine at about 10am and left about 3:30pm.

If you are ever in the area, I would strongly suggest going! God Bless...

The Ant and the Contact Lens

This is one of those great forwards that I got in an email from a friend. I don't know if it is true or not, but it is a great story none the less..... enjoy!

THE ANT AND THE CONTACT LENS: A TRUE STORY

The task ahead of us is never as great as the Power behind us. Brenda was almost halfway to the top of the tremendous granite cliff.

She was standing on a ledge where she was taking a breather during this, her first rock climb. As she rested there, the safety rope snapped against her eye and knocked out her contact lens. 'Great', she thought. 'Here I am on a rock ledge, hundreds of feet from the bottom and hundreds of feet to the top of this cliff, and now my sight is blurry.'

She looked and looked, hoping that somehow it had landed on the ledge. But it just wasn't there. She felt the panic rising in her, so she began praying.

She prayed for calm, and she prayed that she might find her contact lens. When she got to the top, a friend examined her eye and her clothing for the lens, but it was not to be found.

Although she was calm now that she was at the top, she was saddened because she could not clearly see across the range of mountains. She thought of the bible verse 'The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth.' She thought, 'Lord, You can see all these mountains. You know every stone and leaf, and You know exactly where my contact lens is. Please help me.'
Later, when they had hiked down the trail to the bottom of the cliff they met another party of climbers just starting up the face of the cliff. One of them shouted out, 'Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?'

Well, that would be startling enough, but you know why the climber saw it? An ant was moving slowly across a twig on the face of the rock, carrying it!

The story doesn't end there. Brenda's father is a cartoonist. When she told him the incredible story of the ant, the prayer, and the contact lens, he drew a cartoon of an ant lugging that contact lens with the caption, 'Lord, I don't know why you want me to carry this thing. I can't eat it, and it's awfully heavy. But if this is what you want me to do; I'll carry it for you.' I think it would do all of us some good to say, 'God, I don't know why you want me to carry this load. I can see no good in it and it's awfully heavy. But, if you want me to carry it, I will.'

God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.Yes, I do love GOD. He is my source of existence and my Savior. He keeps me functioning each and every day. Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him...I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. (Phil. 4:13)

"Dear children; With all my heart and soul full of faith and love in the Heavenly Father, I gave my Son to you and am giving Him to you anew. My Son has brought you, the people of the entire world, to know the only true God and His love. He has led you on the way of truth and made you brothers and sisters. Therefore, my children, do not wander, do not close your heart before that truth, hope and love. Everything around you is passing and everything is falling apart, only the glory of God remains. Therefore, renounce everything that distances you from the Lord. Adore Him alone, because He is the only true God. I am with you and I will remain with you. I am especially praying for the shepherds that they may be worthy representatives of my Son and may lead you with love on the way of truth. Thank you."

I call you to gather into God’s family and to be strengthened with the Father’s strength. As individuals, my children, you cannot stop the evil that wants to begin to rule in this world and to destroy it. “Dear children! May this time be for you a time of prayer and silence. Rest your body and spirit, may they be in God’s love. Begin and end the day with prayer with the heart. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

In My Dark Hours

I have heard of "dark hours" or dark days for some Christians.
I found a poem that gives some-what of a meaning to what I am talking about.

In these troubled times, many of us seek for hope, truth, light, guidance and understanding. Then we come to the realization that the only hope, truth, light, guidance and understanding is through Christ Jesus.

Many of us know people that are struggling, hurting, feeling abandoned and hopeless. These feelings can be found in so many ways. In health issues, in job loss, in fear, in despair.

I have been numb for many months now. I have had feelings of indiffence, not knowing what I am feeling exaclty. I have been trying to keep my relationship with God open and close, but I can feel a distance lately. I think that is what a dark hour is for me.

We have been through some trials and I thought that we took them well. We stayed positive and moved forward, but what we don't understand it that our mind tries to shield us from the pain. Our positive attitude was a cover for underlying hurts that need to be dealt with.

I noticed right away as these events started to unfold that I had a hard time praying. I felt lost in prayer.

I am taking a Bible study course with a group and it is helping me to force myself to reconcile my feelings. I am organizing our parishes Vacation Bible School on the Rosary, that forces me to look at the life and suffering of our Lord and His Mother also. It is good for me to see the suffering that Jesus and Mary went through for our salvation with no complaint.

Sometimes I feel like my mind, heart, soul and body are being drained. Then I think about how drained Jesus was on that last day of His humanity. He was verbally and physically abused to the point of death and His body was drained of Its life forces - but yet He rose again.

I will rise again, in my own way, and things will be as normal as they can be again. But for now, I will continue to keep searching for that light that takes away the darkness.

Serenity Prayerby Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971)

God give us grace to accept with serenitythe things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the thingswhich should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish the one from the other.

Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much
seekto be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen

With an open heart, sincerely ask yourselves if you want the living God or do you want to eliminate Him and live as you want. Look around you, my children, and see where the world is going, the world that thinks of doing everything without the Father, and which wanders in the darkness of temptation. I am offering to you the light of the Truth and the Holy Spirit. According to God's plan I am with you to help you to have my Son, His Cross and Resurrection, triumph in your hearts. Catholic Home Bible Study

I have been thinking about doing a home Bible Study but didn't know where to start. I came across this website by Kay Murdy and it seems to be a well put together and by a very knowledgeable person.

Here is an example of some of her teachings for "names of God in the Bible".

Elohim

This name for God appears 2,570 times in the Old Testament and 35 times between Genesis 1:1 and 2:4 The name "Elohim" speaks of God's mighty power and strength. We would expect it to appear often in the opening verses of Genesis because God's power as Creator is depicted there.

Yahweh

This is God's personal name. It is what He calls Himself (see Ex. 3:15). It is composed of a four-letter Hebrew construct roughly equivalent to our YHWH. The name occurs 6,823 times in the Old Testament. The ancient Hebrews regarded this name as being so sacred that they even refused to pronounce it, substituting the word "Adonai" (Lord) whenever it appeared. Jewish scholars who copied the Hebrew Bible, carried this same deep respect for the name "Yahweh." Before a scribe would copy it, he would go to his chambers, bathe, and put on a clean robe. In some chapters, such as Deuteronomy 28, he would have to go through this cleansing ritual 40 times! The name "Yahweh" is more personal than "Elohim." It describes God in His relationship with His people--His presence with us and His interaction with us. "Yahweh" expresses the love of God, His concern for the sins of His people, His pledge to keep His covenants, and His promise to redeem.

Adonai

This name, which is used for God some 300 times in the Old Testament, is made up of two parts: adon, which means "Lord" or "Master," and the ending ai, which means "my." Thus the name "Adonai" could be translated "my Lord" or "my Master." It suggests the relationship between the Sovereign Master and a submissive servant (see Gen. 15:2,8).

I am calling you to resurrect in my Son. Along with confession of sins renounce everything that has distanced you from my Son and that has made your life empty and unsuccessful. Something to Think About Abortion

A worried woman went to her gynecologist and said:

'Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even 1 year old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kids so close together.

So the doctor said: 'Ok and what do you want me to do?'

She said: 'I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help with this.'

The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: 'I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too.'

She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.

Then he continued: 'You see, in order for you not to have to take care 2 babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.

The lady was horrified and said: 'No doctor! How terrible! It's a crime to kill a child!

'I agree', the doctor replied. 'But you seemed to be OK with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution.'

The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point.

He convinced the mom that there is no difference in killing a child that's already been born and one that's still in the womb.

The crime is the same!

If you agree, please SHARE. Together we can help save precious lives!

A couple of days ago I was running (I use that term very loosely) on my treadmill, watching a DVD sermon by Louie Giglio... And I was BLOWN AWAY! I want to share what I learned....

He (Louie) was talking about how inconceivably BIG our God is... How He spoke the universe into being... How He breathes stars out of His mouth that are huge raging balls of fire.. Etc. Etc. Then He went on to speak of how this star-breathing, universe creating God ALSO knitted our human bodies together with amazing detail and wonder. At this point I am LOVING it (fascinating from a medical standpoint, you know.) . And I was remembering how I was constantly amazed during medical school as I learned more and more about God's handiwork. I remember so many times thinking..'How can ANYONE deny that a Creator did all of this???'

Louie went on to talk about how we can trust that the God who created all this, also has the power to hold it all together when things seem to be falling apart...how our loving Creator is also our sustainer.

And then I lost my breath. And it wasn't because I was running my treadmill, either!

It was because he started talking about laminin. I knew about laminin.. Here is how Wikipedia describes them: 'Laminins are a family of proteins that are an integral part of the structural scaffolding of basement membranes in almost every animal tissue' You see.... Laminins are what hold us together... LITERALLY. They are cell adhesion molecules. They are what holds one cell of our bodies to the next cell. Without them, we would literally fall apart. And I knew all this already. But what I didn't know is what they LOOKED LIKE..

But now I do. And I have thought about it a thousand times since (already).....Here is what the structure of laminin looks like... AND THIS IS NOT a 'Christian portrayal' of it.... If you look up laminin in any scientific/medical piece of literature, this is what you will see....

Now tell me that our God is not the coolest!!! Amazing. The glue that holds us together.... ALL of us..... Is in the shape of the cross. Immediately Colossians 1:15-17 comes to mind.

'He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible And invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or Authorities; All things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him All things HOLD TOGETHER.' Colossians 1:15-17

Call me crazy. I just think that is very, very, very cool. Thousands of years before the world knew anything about laminin, Paul penned those words. And now we see that from a very LITERAL standpoint, we are held together... One cell to another.... By the cross.

You would never in a quadrillion years convince me that is anything other than the mark of a Creator who knew EXACTLY what laminin 'glue' would look like long before Adam breathed his first breath!

What I found when I googled laminin!

Here is a blog I found that mentions it again.

Our Lady's April 2, 2011 Message Given to Mirjana

The Medjugorje Web
http://www.medjugorje.org

Our Lady's message of April 2, 2011 to Mirjana "Dear children; With motherly love I desire to open the heart of each of you and to teach you personal unity with the Father. To accept this, you must comprehend that you are important to God and that He is calling you individually. You must comprehend that your prayer is a conversation of a child with the Father; that love is the way by which you must set out - love for God and for your neighbour. That is, my children, the love that has no boundaries, that is the love that emanates from truth and goes to the end. Follow me, my children, so that also others, in recognizing the truth and love in you, may follow you. Thank you."

Once again Our Lady called us to pray for our shepherds (priests) and said: "They have a special place in my heart. They represent my Son."

“Dear children! In a special way today I desire to call you to conversion. As of today, may new life begin in your heart. Children, I desire to see your ‘yes’, and may your life be a joyful living of God’s will at every moment of your life. In a special way today, I bless you with my motherly blessing of peace, love and unity in my heart and in the heart of my Son Jesus. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Heaven is for Real - Colton Burpo

I can't say if this is true or false, but I wanted to share it with you.
The father of Colton Burpo wrote a book about Colton's experience called
"Heaven is for Real". Whether it is truth or fiction, it is a wonderful
example of FAITH.

Annual Apparition of Our Lady to Mirjana Dragicevic-Soldo on March 18, 2011

The Annual Apparition of Our Lady to Mirjana Dragicevic-Soldo on March 18, 2011

The visionary Mirjana Dragicevic-Soldo had daily apparitions from June 24th 1981 to December 25th 1982.

During the last daily apparition, Our Lady gave her the 10th secret, and told her that she would appear to her once a year, on the 18th of March. It has been this way through the years.

Several thousand pilgrims gathered in prayer of the Rosary at the 'Blue Cross'. The apparition lasted from 13:46 to 13:50.

"Dear children! I am with you in the name of the greatest Love, in the name of dear God, who has come close to you through my Son and has shown you real love. I desire to lead you on the way of God. I desire to teach you real love so that others may see it in you, that you may see it in others, that you may be a brother to them and that others may see a merciful brother in you. My children, do not be afraid to open your hearts to me. With motherly love, I will show you what I expect of each of you, what I expect of my apostles. Set out with me. Thank you."

Listen to the Rosary and Pray Along

I have found a wonderful website that has many forms of the Rosary that you can listen to, pray with and download.

This is a great way for people that don't know how to pray the Rosary to learn, or for people that want to pray the Rosary in different forms or while they are working.
And what a great time to being praying the Rosary more - LENT.

It can be downloaded and taken with you or prayed while you are bustling to get ready to go somewhere.

There are so many wonderful resources available for people to use, you just need to want to find them and pray!

Did you know there are FREE apps available for your phones as well? There is a great one called Daily Mass Readings. It has the daily scripture readings, prayers, the Rosary, the Stations of the Cross and many other great resources all in one tiny little free app for your phones.

For the Android App link - click here Or visit your apps store and click on free apps.
These are great ways to get children praying more too.

Remembering Mother Theresa of Calcutta

A government critic once told Mother Teresa she would do better to give people rods and teach them to fish than to give them fish.

“The people I take care of—they are disabled, they’re hungry, they’re sick, they’re rejected by society, they have forgotten what love is. They are completely broken. I will give them the fish to eat and then when they are able to stand and hold the rod, I will hand them over to you and you give them the rod to catch the fish.”

Message of March 02, 2011

"Dear children; My motherly heart suffers tremendously as I look at my children who persistently put what is human before what is of God; at my children who, despite everything that surrounds them and despite all the signs that are sent to them, think that they can walk without my Son. They cannot! They are walking to eternal perdition. That is why I am gathering you, who are ready to open your heart to me, you who are ready to be apostles of my love, to help me; so that by living God's love you may be an example to those who do not know it. May fasting and prayer give you strength in that and I bless you with motherly blessing in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Thank you."
Our Lady was very sad.

Message - February 25, 2011

“Dear children! Nature is awakening and on the trees the first buds are seen which will bring most beautiful flowers and fruit. I desire that you also, little children, work on your conversion and that you be those who witness with their life, so that your example may be a sign and an incentive for conversion to others. I am with you and before my Son Jesus I intercede for your conversion. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Changes to the Mass Words

There are a few changes that will take place this coming Advent Season -
Sunday, Nov 27, 2011

Explanation of the changes can be found here.

Or you can watch the following videos from Loyola Press.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace; Taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world As it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that You will make all things right If I surrender to Your Will; So that I may be reasonably happy in this life And supremely happy with You forever in the next. Pro-Life Advocate Dr. Bernard N. Nathanson Dies

Dr. Bernard N. Nathanson died on Monday, February 21, 2011.

Dr. Bernard Nathanson may God give you Peace. Your conversion and commitment to saving babies, makes you so much like St. Paul. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him..May his soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed rest in peace. Amen.

"Dr. Bernard N. Nathanson, a campaigner for abortion rights who, after experiencing a change of heart in the 1970s became a prominent opponent of abortion and the on-screen narrator of the anti-abortion film “The Silent Scream,” died on Monday at his home in Manhattan. He was 84." Part of an article from The New York Times

(The following was part of an email from the National Right to Life.) In the early 1970s Dr. Nathanson was director of the largest abortion facility in the world, New York City's Center for Reproductive and Sexual Health. He wrote that he was “personally responsible” for 75,000 abortions, and performed about 5,000 abortions.

In his 1979 book, “Aborting America,” Dr. Nathanson gave an insider’s account of the creation of what was then called the National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws (NARAL), since rebranded as Naral Pro-Choice America. In that classic Dr. Nathanson explained how he and others cynically fabricated and exaggerated statistics about the number of abortions and the number of deaths from illegal abortions at the same time they consciously adopted a strategy of systematically vilifying the Catholic Church hierarchy.

As a fellow New Yorker, Jeanne Head, NRLC Vice President for International Affairs and United Nations Representative, knew Dr. Nathanson first as a foe and then as a friend. “Dr. Nathanson was probably one of the individuals most responsible for Roe v. Wade and, once he realized his error, he dedicated the rest of his life to reversing it,”Head said. She explained that she heard about “Aborting America" when it was in galley form and may have been the first pro-lifer to speak to him after he had finished co-writing the book with Richard Ostling.

In 1984 Dr. Nathanson unveiled “The Silent Scream,” a mesmerizingly powerful video which shows sonogram images of an unborn child frantically trying to avoid the abortionist’s instruments. Former New Hampshire Sen. Gordon Humphrey, told Time Magazine at the time that the film represented “A high technology Uncle Tom's Cabin, arousing public opinion just as Harriet Beecher Stowe's 1852 antislavery novel ignited the abolitionist movement.”

Head added, “It would be difficult to exaggerate the importance of his book, “The Silent Scream,” and his later video, “Eclipse of Reason” in driving home the sheer horror and brutality of abortion.”

For many years Dr. Nathanson described himself as a Jewish atheist, but in 1996 Nathanson was baptized a Catholic by Cardinal John O’Connor

I have posted these video's for you to view - please know that Dr. Nathanson made these with the hopes that every woman that entered a clinic for an abortion would be shown these.

They are very graphic and should not be viewed by young children.

Dear God, Forgive us for allowing these things to happen to our fellow human beings and give us the strength to keep fighting to stop abortions. Amen.

The White Picket Fence

When I was a little girl growing up in a family that had many problems, including mental illness, all I ever wanted was to meet a prince and be taken to a home with a "white picket fence".

For me the picket fence represented everything that my parents didn't have. Someone to share love with. Someone to do things with. Someone that would always be there and someone to raise a family with. Some one that could provide for us too.

My mother and father had love, I can see that now because they are still together long after 50 years. Because of my fathers mental illness, he never wanted to do anything with mom or us kids. When I was a little girl I begged mom to divorce dad so that she could marry someone that would take care of us and her. I know that was wrong now, but as a child - you look for any way out of a bad situation that you can find. To me, my mother is a saint for taking care of him all these years. That takes great strength and courage.

And of course that someone that could provide. My dad only worked when he wanted to and never worked after his low to mid forties ~ at least he quit drinking around that age too. My mom supported us the best she could. Us kids all worked, all in all it taught us to be who we are today. Unfortunately our younger brother, the baby, acquired the mental illness with a vengeance and has been institutionalized since his mid thirties ~ but that is another story.

Getting back to the white picket fence. My husband and I celebrated out thirtieth wedding anniversary last week. I look back at how blessed I am to have him and know that he is my "white picket fence". He came and rescued me when I needed it and we have been rescuing each other ever since. He is a wonderful father, loving husband and a provider that goes beyond the call of duty.

Now don't get me wrong, we have had numerous financial difficulties, but God always provides at the right time and we get by.

For every door that closes, another door opens. We are starting over again - I don't even want to count how many times we have had to do that, but we are doing it together!

We have been blessed with a large family that continues to grow everyday!

I want to take this time to thank God for all the wonderful gifts that He has given me ~ especially for my "white picket fence". AMEN.

Our Lady's message to Mirjana Soldo of February, 2nd 2011.

"Dear children; You are gathering around me, you are seeking your way, you are seeking, you are seeking the truth but are forgetting what is the most important, you are forgetting to pray properly. Your lips pronounce countless words, but your spirit does not feel anything. Wandering in darkness, you even imagine God Himself according to yourselves, and not such as He really is in His love. Dear children, proper prayer comes from the depth of your heart, from your suffering, from your joy, from your seeking the forgiveness of sins. This is the way to come to know the right God and by that also yourselves, because you are created according to Him. Prayer will bring you to the fulfillment of my desire, of my mission here with you, to the unity in God's family. Thank you."

Our Lady blessed everyone present, thanked them and called us to pray for priests.

Our Lady's January 25, 2011 Medjugorje Message‏

Our Lady's January 25, 2011

"Dear children!
Also today I am with you and I am looking at you and blessing you, and I am not losing hope that this world will change for the good and that peace will reign in the hearts of men. Joy will begin to reign in the world because you have opened yourselves to my call and to God’s love. The Holy Spirit is changing a multitude of those who have said ‘yes’. Therefore I desire to say to you: thank you for having responded to my call."

The Baptism of Our Lord

The Baptism of Jesus
Matthew 3: 13-17

13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. 14 But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”
15 Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.
16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

Why did Jesus want to be Baptized? He was divine and sinless - why then would He get baptized?

Jesus wanted to be baptized to show us His humanity and to let us know that He took on ALL of our SINS to save us at His death.

By His baptism, we see the greatest gift we can ever receive, the gift of salvation and forgiveness that would come from His death on the cross and the Resurrection.

Jesus is God. Jesus was man and God. Jesus came to save us - John knew Jesus didn't need atonement.

Thank you dear Jesus for these great gifts! Amen

January 2, 2011 message to Mirjana Soldo

Dear children; Today I call you to unity (communion) in Jesus, my Son. My motherly heart prays that you may comprehend that you are God's family. Through the spiritual freedom of will, which the Heavenly Father has given you, you are called to become cognizant (to come to the knowledge) of the truth, the good or the evil. May prayer and fasting open your hearts and help you to discover the Heavenly Father through my Son. In discovering the Father, your life will be directed to carrying out of God's will and the realization of God's family, in the way that my Son desires (wishes). I will not leave you alone on this path. Thank you.

Mirjana felt that she could say to Our Lady: ' We have all come to you with our sufferings and crosses. Help us, we implore you.' Our Lady extended her hands towards us and said: Open your hearts to me. Give your sufferings to me. The Mother will help.
